ClearEdge was founded in 2006 and is led by a team of former senior sales, business and legal executives from leading IT suppliers and Fortune 500 companies. Our Managing Partners bring decades of independent, senior-level expertise to the buyer's side of the table and lead the delivery teams across 12 IT Solution Practices.

Jack Garrahan, Founder & President

Jack Garrahan launched ClearEdge in 2006 after more than two decades as an enterprise IT sales and marketing executive. He previously ran EMC's EMEA Organization spanning 28 countries, with 2,500 professionals and $2 billion in yearly revenue. He led EMC's Global Marketing organization including the product, pricing, branding, events, education and professional services teams. He served as GM of EMC's DMX and Celerra business units and was the first recipient of EMC's Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also held executive roles in start-up technology companies Wildfire, NetXchange, and Air Miles. He is a graduate of Boston College and Harvard Business School.

Tom DeMarco, Executive Vice President & Managing Partner

Tom DeMarco leads the ClearEdge Applications, Backup & Security and Business Intelligence Practice teams. Tom brings expertise on deal-making and long-term cost control strategies from involvement in thousands of transactions on both the vendor and customer sides. He previously served as West Coast Sales Director for Oracle and PeopleSoft, VP of Sales for Tidal Software (process automation/batch scheduling) eTime Capital (supply chain), Sagent (Data Warehousing) and Regional VP at Platinum Technology (operational tools). Tom earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Michigan State University.

Jim Florentine, Executive Vice President & Managing Partner

Jim Florentine brings 25 years of IT management and leadership experience to his leadership of the ClearEdge System & Server Management and Mainframe Practice teams. Prior to ClearEdge, Jim built numerous IT hardware and software sales organizations. He served as Senior Vice President for CA Technologies, Area Vice President for Platinum Technologies and led the storage marketing division at EMC Corporation. He graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.


Chris White, Executive Vice President & CIO

Chris White leads the ClearEdge IT Finance Practice and serves as the company’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). Chris brings 20 years of IT and Financial management leadership experience to ClearEdge. He previously served in numerous Fortune 500 leadership roles, including his 16-year tenure at Safeway where he was mostly recently the IT Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after serving in other Enterprise IT Leadership roles. Prior to Safeway, Chris was an Assistant Controller with Pinkerton Systems Integration and was also a Business Manager for Peter Kiewit Sons’ Company, a Fortune 500 global engineering and heavy construction firm. Chris holds a B.S in Business Administration and MBA in Finance from Saint Mary’s College of California.

Robin Kostin, Managing Partner

Robin Kostin joined ClearEdge after spending 25 years in IT sales, most recently as Regional Vice President for Oracle's enterprise sales organization. A specialist in complex sales, licensing strategies and modeling, she leads the ClearEdge Middleware and Data Management Practice teams. She previously managed strategic accounts in the financial services vertical for Unisys. Robin is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business and Economics and the Boston University Graduate School of Management.

David Meyer, Managing Partner

David Meyer leads the ClearEdge Networking and Server Hardware practice teams. He has spent more than 20 years in a variety of senior sales management roles. Before joining ClearEdge, he managed revenues of $200M and teams of more than 150 sales professionals with a wide range of information technology companies, including Cisco Systems, Cabletron Systems and Pannaway Technologies. Through his experience, he has accumulated extensive knowledge regarding vendor sales and pricing strategies and developing comprehensive buying strategies.

Chris Powers, Managing Partner, Consulting Services

Chris Powers leads the Professional and Outsourcing Services practices at ClearEdge Partners.  He provides advisory, consulting and talent development services to ClearEdge clients in this complex and fast-growing category of IT spending. Chris brings over 20 years of leadership in selling and delivering IT Services to global clients.  He previously served as VP/GM at Atos, Siemens IT Solutions and Services, and ENTEX Information Services and received his MBA and undergraduate degrees at Babson College.

Steve Savard, Managing Director, VP Transaction Management Services

Steve Savard brings over two decades of IT management and leadership experience to the ClearEdge Transaction Management Services Team. Prior to ClearEdge, Steve managed account teams responsible for multi-million dollar enterprise accounts for EMC.  While at EMC, he designed, implemented and adjusted various sales plans for the entire portfolio of products within these accounts.  In his role at CEP, Steve has a proven track record providing leadership on strategy, messaging, supplier positioning, targets and negotiation execution.  He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst – Isenberg School of Management.

Tres Larsen, Managing Director, Enterprise Software

Managing Director Tres Larsen has led hundreds of Software Asset Management (SAM) reviews and audits for Microsoft and other enterprise software vendors and helped dozens of enterprises design and implement effective SAM programs and navigate software audits. Tres established and led KPMG’s Microsoft software compliance program in the U.S., where he designed and developed the audit methodology and audit data collection tools.  A frequent speaker at software industry events, he is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Tres has a Masters in Information Systems Management and Bachelors degree in Accounting from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.

John Gill, Vice President

John Gill is responsible for business and service development for the ClearEdge program. Before joining ClearEdge, John led the marketing teams at CenterStone Software and ChannelWave Software, prior to acquisitions. He previously directed marketing campaigns for technology companies at HighGround, Inc., served as Massachusetts District Director for a U.S. Congressman and was a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper reporter and editor in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Boston College.


Sean Sweeney, Managing Director

Sean leads Marketing at ClearEdge.  Prior to ClearEdge, Sean held various roles as an analyst at Forrester Research and focused on consulting and system integration firms. He helped Sourcing & Vendor management executives connect with peers in various industries and geographies, and focused on new Forrester products and services -  analyzing the viability of new product development, market sizing, commercial opportunity, and launch.  Prior to Forrester, Sean was a manager at Accenture and worked with various global firms spanning different industries.  He is a graduate of Boston College.

Ann Shuman, Director, Summit Programs

Ann Shuman leads  efforts for the annual ClearEdge IT V.A.L.U.E. Summit. She brings over 20 years experience in corporate and division marketing at Hewlett-Packard Co., where she developed cross-company messaging and communications, produced the HP Annual report, created and managed the Corporate Speakers Bureau and led sales training and communications for the HP sales force. She is a graduate of Syracuse University.
